I take the rubber top off and use them as tumblers: no sweating, stuff stays cold (and hot, but not so well as cold), great for keeping liquids warm at dinner (gravy, e.g., especially with a large Jif peanut butter lid, which just fits), can still use them as holders for cold and hot drink cups. You can put ice and water (equal portions), and as long as you don't fill it up all the way, it will stay ice cold for 18 hours or more with an ambient temperature of 70. (if you fill it all the way up, you lose the air layer that helps insulate the ice water, and it warms more quickly). There are smaller versions, and the ones used for canned beverage insulators are great too. |
