I have never owned a "hot pot" before, but I was hoping this would keep up with our wintertime hot water needs since I have 7 kids.Rosewill is a brand I have purchased before and I know they have a very responsive customer service department in case I have a problem. This is not a small appliance and will take up some room on your counter. It is 15" tall and about 10 1/2" deep at the top. The sides of the exterior are silver colored metal, the top is white plastic, and the interior is stainless steel. There is a window on the front which allows you to see the water level at a glance. The controls are sealed buttons on the top. It also has a swivel feature on the bottom which is so convenient.
